Lakewood Vineyards
4024 NY State Route 14, Watkins Glen, New York 14891
Growing grapes for 3 generations and over 70 years, Lakewood Vineyards is a Trail must-stop! Since 1988 they've used Finger Lakes grapes to craft distinct, delicious wines. These wines have helped characterize the area's diversity and wine quality. On top of this, of their founders, Beverly Stamp, still working at the vineyard, was an instrumental part in forming the Seneca Lake AVA (American Viticultural Area). The AVA is now known for some of the world's top Rieslings. The Stamp family continues to set standards for the entire region with their award-winning wines and customer service.
Opening in 1989, Lakewood Vineyards has expanded to make many well known varieties including Riesling, Lemberger, and Pinot Noir, as well as a fun line of Long Stem blends that are easy drinking and fun to sip. Also make sure to check out their Borealis, an iced wine made from Concord grapes that exhibits aromas of sweet cherries & cotton candy! Relax on their deck, lawn or in the tasting room, and bring the kids because they have a great swing-set for them to play as you relax. Picnic tables are available to sip a glass of wine, or stretch your legs on the front lawn overlooking the vineyards. Dogs are also welcome, and even if you don't bring your own, you'll likely see one of theirs.
Offering guided tours, barrel room tastings, and wine-by-the-glass, Lakewood Vineyards is a must-stop winery along the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. Some of our favorites include the Bubbly Candeo, Lemberger, and 3Generations Riesling.
They are open year round, Monday-Saturday 10-5, and Sunday 12-5, and are Closed New Years Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
